FAQs

How is this distance learning model different from others?

We provide a Certified instructor to teach live in the classroom via video call, so they are interacting with students in real time during the entire class.

To name just a few benefits of using Moodle:

All Lesson Plans, Worksheets, Answer Keys, and many other activities are installed for easy reference; exams and worksheets can be graded to provide immediate feedback to the students; scores can be tracked, and various activities can be done online, enhancing the overall program.

The lessons are short. Research proves that keeping the lessons short help build the skills and confidence of the student. The lessons also build on prior knowledge.

Best teaching practices we use in the classroom:

  • Meaningful and relevant activities that keep learners interested in the subject and how it applies to the real world.

  • Inquiry-based instruction, asking questions which can inspire diverse learners to develop their problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Cooperative Learning helps students of various capabilities and learning styles work together.

  • Differentiation of teaching strategies based on their abilities, making sure no one gets left behind.

  • Professional Development of our own Certified Teachers.

We meet all state requirements required by the Department of Education.

How much does it cost?

Our program is budget-friendly, and more cost effective than hiring a full time teacher. Schools pay by the class, per semester, and the cost is determined by the number of students within 3 categories: 1-15 students, 16-30 students, and 30+ (although this size is not recommended) students enrolled in the class. There is a one time ‘Teacher of Record’ charge for each class at the beginning of each semester (2 semesters annually). Contact Rider Classroom directly for a quote based on your anticipated classroom needs.

What is the Advantage for Teachers?

Our model allows teachers to work from home, choose the number of classes they want to teach each semester, and in turn, how much they make since we pay by the class. There are no PTA or faculty meetings to attend, less (or no) grading to complete, they receive a sign on bonus, and benefits allotment. The virtual classroom environment allows for ultimate flexibility and freedom to do what you do best- just teach!

Which curriculum do we use?

Our teachers will use the core subject curriculum provided by the school that meets state guidelines. All subject materials and texts are also provided by the school, and assignments are submitted through Moodle.
